About The Play
Court Martial by Swadesh Deepak, a powerful play that exposes caste discrimination and abuse of authority within the military.
It follows Recruit Ramchandar, on trial for killing his superior, Captain Verma. What appears to be a simple case gradually reveals a deeper truth—Ramchandar had been subjected to constant humiliation and injustice.
As the trial unfolds under Colonel Sandhaya Singh, the courtroom becomes a space where questions of justice, dignity, and systemic failure come to the forefront.
The play ultimately asks: Was it a crime, or the result of an unjust system?
