Birha di Radak - the very essence of longing. Simran's life was that of a housewife. So was of the women in 1980s. However her peaceful life is strewn apart by a powerful storm that is felt, not seen. She can see reality slip away into fiction. There is no justification to the events disguised as accidents surrounding her. Amidst the political struggles, amidst the chaos in Punjab, all she ached for was the plausible memories of moments snatched away from her leaving her world turned upside down. However it is not just her, whose roots have been wretched apart from the soil. The invisible tangents of the storm imprinted on our very selves. It is said, instilling fear is the most important part of a hunt. This too, was a hunt. Except it was no jungle. There were no animals. The hunter neither carried a gun nor a net. It was with shear bluntness that our lives were torn into pieces. For our voices were hunted and we were preyed upon.
