About The Play
Set within a middle-class household buzzing with wedding preparations, The Wedding Album slowly peels back the layers of celebration to reveal what lies beneath tradition and spectacle. As conversations unfold, long-buried emotions, patriarchal expectations, class tensions, and unspoken wounds come to the surface, exposing the delicate illusion of the “perfect family.”
With a blend of gentle humour and searing honesty, this adaptation of Girish Karnad’s classic questions whether marriage is truly an act of love or a performance of social duty — inviting audiences to look beyond rituals and confront the truths they often conceal.
